Terms of Service.

These terms describe the responsibilities that help people use Chessboard together.

The service and these terms

Chessboard is provided by Bad Command AI dba Badkom. These draft terms describe the intended service agreement; the final version must be approved before general publication or adoption.

Chessboard helps teams manage project context, tasks, plans and sprint records. Separate written agreements may govern a pilot or organizational account. If a written agreement conflicts with these terms, the applicable signed agreement controls for that customer.

Contact support@badkom.com with questions.

Accounts and team authority

Use accurate account information and protect your sign-in access. You must have authority to accept terms for an organization if you are acting on its behalf.

Workspace owners and administrators manage membership and access. Team roles determine who can make particular planning decisions. You are responsible for checking that people have appropriate access to shared information.

Do not impersonate another person, share credentials or bypass another team's access restrictions. The service is intended for professional team use, not use by children.

Your content stays yours

You retain ownership of the content you submit. You grant us the limited permission needed to host, process, display and transmit it to provide Chessboard and the features you select.

That permission is for operating the service for customers, including support and necessary security or legal handling. It is not permission to sell your project content or use it in advertising.

You are responsible for having the rights to submit content and for avoiding secrets or sensitive information the workspace does not need. Sharing content with a team makes it available to the people permitted to view that team.

Review drafts and make your own decisions

Document assistance can organize notes and suggest wording or work for review. Outputs may be incomplete or mistaken and are not professional advice or a guarantee that every requirement was captured.

People remain responsible for reviewing project context, approving commitments, assigning work and deciding when tasks are complete. A suggested answer, copied message or repository event is not itself approval.

Do not rely on a draft for safety-critical, legal, medical or financial decisions without appropriate independent review.

Connections and third-party services

You choose whether to enable supported connections and which repositories or services to make available. Third-party services have their own terms and availability.

GitHub observations provide context about linked work. Chessboard does not guarantee that a check result, review or repository status proves every condition of your task is satisfied.

Do not use a connection to obtain data you are not authorized to access. Review sharing permissions before linking private work to a team.

Use the service responsibly

  • Do not use Chessboard for unlawful activity, harassment or infringement of other people's rights.
  • Do not submit malicious code, abuse invitations or attempt to disrupt the service.
  • Do not evade access controls, processing limits or subscription requirements.
  • Do not attempt to collect another customer's data or credentials.

Plans, pilots and fees

Free includes one team, 100 issues and unlimited members. Paid pricing is USD $8 per accepted workspace member per month, billed monthly, or USD $60 per member per year, billed annually. There is no minimum seat count. Paid billing is currently in testing; existing pilots follow their agreed terms.

Every accepted workspace member counts as a seat, including owners and viewers. Pending invitations do not count. Member changes create prorated charges or credits on the next or final invoice. The subscription portal presents any billing interval change before confirmation.

Cancel renewal in the customer portal. Paid access continues through the paid period. Saved work remains available on Free after that period, with new work and assistance subject to current limits. No saved work is automatically deleted because you cancel.

Retention, deletion and leaving

The Privacy Policy explains how temporary notes, drafts and saved work differ. Temporary-source expiration does not erase all approved project content.

Requests involving shared work, account removal or personal information may need identity and authority checks. We review those requests rather than treating an ordinary support message as permission to erase records.

Use available exports to keep copies of work you need. Contact support if you need help ending a pilot, changing access or requesting removal.

Availability and changes

We work to maintain the service, but interruptions, maintenance and third-party failures can occur. No uptime commitment is created by these draft terms.

We may change features and limits as the product develops. Material changes affecting an agreed paid service should be communicated according to the applicable agreement.

We may restrict abusive use or access that creates a security risk. Where practical and lawful, we provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Responsibilities and mandatory rights

The service and draft outputs do not come with a promise of uninterrupted operation, complete interpretation or a particular project outcome.

Any final warranty, liability limit, governing law and dispute process require confirmation in the final terms. This draft does not invent a financial liability cap or court jurisdiction.

Nothing in the final terms is intended to remove rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

Changes and contact

The final terms should identify their effective date and explain material changes before they apply. Continued use and acceptance procedures must follow the applicable agreement and law.
